Our purpose
Welcome to the home of Tākitimu Films.
We are a new company and are in the process of bringing you some exciting content.
Our goal is to collaborate with others and bring their stories to life on the screen.
Currently we are working on a documentary called 'GROUNDSforACTION' which places three local organisations in the spotlight as they put up the good fight for our environment and communities.

On Saturday the 7th of February we launched our Boosted Campaign to raise $10,000 to go towards some of the production costs for GROUNDSforACTION.
This was followed by a Facebook Live Event where Janine introduced the project and explained the objective and the goals for the organisations participating in the documentary.
The support so far has been wonderful and generous.

On Sunday Janine took part in the Outsiders 'Talent Development Program' in conjunction with Nikon NZ — combining mentorship, technical training, and practical field experience in the heart of Aotearoa’s adventure landscape. It was a great experience and the whole day was priceless!

Getting in amongst the mahi brings a true understanding of the dedication of these volunteers. We were lucky to be able to tag along to one of the thrice-weekly S T.O.P meets on the Otago Peninsula where coordinators Lala Fraser and Duncan Ross, gave us plenty of history and future direction for this incredible organization.
"If you gave me a thousand people for a year, I could find work for every single one of them". Duncan is the only paid staff member on S.T.O.P, working 30 hours a week.
